As the culmination of their Communication classes, the fifth- and sixth-grade students interviewed tourists visiting Asakusa from various countries. In preparation, they researched Asakusa and its history in English and discussed how to explain its highlights to visitors. During the interviews, the students listened attentively and introduced Asakusa’s history and attractions in English. This experience gave them a valuable opportunity to use what they had learned and discover how English can connect people from around the world.

5・6年生の児童たちは、浅草を訪れていた様々な国の観光客に、英語でインタビューを行いました。事前学習では、浅草やその歴史について英語で調べ、観光客に浅草の魅力をどのように伝えたらよいかについて英語で話し合いました。インタビュー当日は、相手の話にしっかりと耳を傾けながら、浅草の歴史や見どころを英語で紹介しました。授業で学んだことを実際の場面で活用するとともに、英語が世界中の人々をつなぐ言葉であることを実感できる、貴重な機会となりました。
